Position Description Title: Senior Laravel Developer
Department/Function: Engineering
Location: Remote
Employment Type: Casual / Project-Based (with potential for Part-Time or Full-Time)
The Role
The Senior Laravel Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality backend solutions within the C9 ecosystem. You will work closely with the development team to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient Laravel-based applications while ensuring best practices in coding standards, system architecture, and performance optimization.
Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and optimize Laravel-based applications and backend systems
Design and implement RESTful APIs (and GraphQL where applicable)
Manage and optimize database structures using MySQL or PostgreSQL
Implement authentication and authorization systems
Ensure high performance, responsiveness, and security of applications
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver client-focused solutions
Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing systems
Maintain version control using Git and follow best coding practices
Contribute to code reviews and uphold development standards
Key Accountability Areas & Outcomes (First 12 Months)
1) 30 days
Complete onboarding and development environment setup
Gain familiarity with active Laravel projects and codebase
Successfully contribute to minor bug fixes and enhancements
2) 60 days
Take ownership of backend features within active projects
Deliver API endpoints and database improvements independently
Demonstrate consistent contribution to development sprints
3) 90 days
Fully integrate into the development team and workflow
Deliver complex backend solutions with minimal supervision
Propose and implement improvements for performance and scalability
Working Arrangements
Remote; must be available during Australian Business Hours (AEST). Tools and equipment provided per company policy.
